Description
The estate
Château du Tertre is a Margaux 5th Cru Classé located on Bordeaux’s Left Bank of Bordeaux. Since its purchase at the end of 1997 by Eric Albada Jelgersma, considerable investments have been made to elevate this exceptional terroir of rare uniformity. Since January 2021, Château du Tertre has been run by the Helfrich family, managers of the trading company Les Grands Chais de France.
The vineyard
Produced as a Vin de France, the Château du Tertre Blanc 2022 comes from a vineyard of 6.20 hectares of which 3.80 hectares are in production. The terroir is composed of light gravel and deep sand, which allows the wine to preserve its signature freshness even in hot and dry conditions. The vines are approximately 10 years old.
Winemaking and ageing
Manual harvesting. Vinification in stainless steel vats. Cold pressing. Alcoholic fermentation in 228L barrels and 500L demi-muids. Aged on fine lees for 6 months in 500L barrels or demi-muids (70% new wood, 30% one-wine wood), with stirring once a week.

Nose
The nose releases with a wonderful freshness floral and fruity (white fruit) fragrances that are characteristic of Sauvignon Blanc and Viognier.
Palate
Ample and light, the palate entices with its vivacity, its aromatic richness, its balance and its delicate acidity.
