Description
The richness and density of a Grand Cru Classe de Graves
Born at the dawn of a beautiful classic vintage for the region of Bordeaux, Château de Fieuzal 2012 is the result of a successful harvest and perfectly executed vinifications under the direction of the talented Stephen Carrier, confirming the high standard of this beautiful property located in Pessac-Leognan.
Elaborated with the greatest respect for the terroir and the grape varieties, Chateau de Fieuzal 2012 reveals the typical expression of a Grand Cru Classe de Graves. Each grape variety used in the blend has been vinified separately in order to preserve its respective characteristics. Merlot (20%) and Cabernet Franc (5%) were vinified in stainless steel vats, while the Petit-Verdot (5%) and the Cabernet Sauvignon (70%) were mainly vinified in concrete vats.
The blend of Chateau de Fieuzal 2012 thus expresses the complexity and particularity of each grape variety on notes that are at once fruity, spicy and woody. Powerful, the aromatic bouquet embalms the nose with blackcurrant scents that dominate before giving way to peppery and vanilla notes. From the attack in the mouth, the cru flatters the palate with its generous density highlighting a beautiful aromatic richness structured by a very present tannic structure. The development on the palate underlines the finesse of the cru which stretches along the length of a lingering finish enhanced by brilliant acidity.
A Grand Cru Classe de Graves that is both rich and elegant, whose future looks bright and promising for the years to come.
