Description
The estate
Since 2001, Château de Fieuzal has belonged to an Irish couple passionate about French wine, who strive to perpetuate the unique character of the estate while preserving the signature style and authenticity of Fieuzal wines. The vineyard is planted in a terroir typical of the Pessac-Léognan appellation, the ideal environment for the cultivation of the main Bordeaux grape varieties.
The vineyard
This Graves Classified Growth reigns over an exceptional vineyard with vines aged 30 years on average, established on a terroir of fine soils covered with gravel.
Blend
The 2020 Château de Fieuzal is made from a blend of Merlot (65%), Cabernet Sauvignon (30%) and Petit Verdot (5%).
Tasting
Colour
The wine is a beautiful garnet colour adorned with ruby tints.
Nose
The nose delicately combines fragrances of forest fruits (wild blackberry, blueberry, blackcurrant, raspberry) with refreshing, spicy notes of pepper.
Palate
The precise and greatly elegant palate seduces with its freshness and palatability. A prevailing tension on the palate is combined with tasty notes of liquorice, cocoa powder as well as a delicate tannic structure and finish which echoes the aromatic richness of the nose.
