Nose

Château d'Yquem 2021 is distinguished by its freshness and almond notes, combined with aromas of cedar, pineapple, pear, plum and tangerine. As the palate develops, flavours of candied lemon and orange emerge, accompanied by a rich floral bouquet reminiscent of broom flowers.

Palate

The estate

Located to the south of Bordeaux, Château d'Yquem is one of the finest references among the great wines of Sauternes. This legendary Premier Cru Classé Supérieur boasts an exceptional terroir and produces world-renowned sweet wines.

The vineyard

Château d'Yquem is an extraordinary place, nestling in the heart of the hills of the Sauternes appellation, with around one hundred hectares of vineyards planted on a mosaic of gravel-sand soils.

The vintage

2021 was a year of many ups and downs: between frost, hail and mildew, the weather conditions left no respite. And yet, the estate's unique geographical location, the colossal amount of work undertaken in the vineyard and the magnificent window of high pressure between September and October enabled us to produce a great vintage.
