The Presence and Depth of a Grand Cru Classe from Medoc
A Grand Cru Classe of 1855, the Chateau Cantermerle is one of the best values of the Haut-Medoc appellation. This timeless wine will seduce lovers of Bordeaux with its elegant style, which can be also be enjoyed the brightness of its youth, or kept to become even more refined over the years.
The wines of Chateau Cantemerle reflect the greatest attention paid to every moment of its production, from the vineyard to the winery, in keeping with tradition but with just the right touch of modernity.
In order to capture the purest expression of the terroir, the winemaking is carried out following a fragmented selection, under the watchful eyes of the experienced oenologist consultant Eric Boissenot.
The First Wine of the estate, the Chateau Cantemerle 2017 demonstrates the technical precision of the teams and highlights the singularity of both the terroir and grape varieties through a blend dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon (71%), completed by Merlot (25%) and Petit Verdot (4%). At the tasting, the Chateau Cantemerle 2017 presents a very elegant aromatic profile. A sure bet, this vintage is one to try!
Wine Advocate-Parker :
The deep garnet-purple colored 2017 Cantemerle gives up lovely crushed black and red currants notes with hints of kirsch, underbrush and cinnamon stick plus a waft of roses. Medium-bodied with plenty of freshness and a fine-grained frame, it is elegantly expressed and finishes with beautiful harmony.
