Antonio Galloni

The 2023 Barde-Haut is a plush, creamy wine. Black cherry, cloves, new leather, menthol and dried herbs all build in the glass. This broad, structured Saint-Émilion has a lot to offer. It's classic Barde-Haut in an easygoing, supple style that can be enjoyed with minimal cellaring.

Spearmint, espresso, black cherries, and blackberries, with a hint of wet-forest-floor aromatics, put on a nice display. The palate is equal to the task. The essence of crushed rocks and stones appears before you encounter layers of sweet, ripe, supple, vibrant red, with black fruits that linger, elegantly balanced between lift and refinement. The wine is a blend of 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc. Drink from 2027-2045.

All about tannins and texture, extremely well assembled with grip and personality. Smoky grilled coffee bean, gorgeous depth of fruit, liquorice root and freshly cut herbs, clear intensity set against floral fragrance, mouthwatering finish. 50% new French oak, 3.4 pH, 45 hl/ha yield, harvest September 14 to 29.
