The 2015 Chateau Barde Haut is an outstanding blend of 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc. This Saint-Emilion offers a magnificent, and a very well characterised bouquet composed of black cherry, black currant notes as well as a very subtle hint of marine influence. The palate is well-balanced with relatively fine and slightly acid tannins. The 2015 Chateau Barde Haut possesses a very nice tension and a good nervousness which confer it a pure and smooth finish. This 2015 Saint-Emilion Chateau Barde Haut is long and soft.
Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2015 Barde-Haut gives up notions of plum preserves, potpourri and baked cherries with underlying Chinese five spice and cigar box hints. Medium to full-bodied, it has a firm backbone of grainy tannins and background freshness supporting the spicy black fruits, finishing on a lingering earthy note.
