Perrier-Jouët : Blanc de Blancs

The latest release of Perrier-Joët's NV Brut Blanc de Blancs is charming and expressive, bursting from the glass with aromas of crisp yellow orchard fruit, pear, white flowers and subtle hints of buttered toast. Medium to full-bodied, elegant and fine-boned, its pretty core of fruit is girdled by succulent acids, concluding with a delicately chalky finish.

Lightly toasty on the nose, this rich Champagne is well-cut, with chiseled acidity defining flavors of quince paste, lemon curd, brioche and white blossoms as they ride the fine, zesty mousse. Drink now. 2,500 cases imported.

Classic style with a reductive Chardonnay delicate nose of charcoaled orange and lemon peel. Carob, nougat and greengage on the palate, with a lifted freshness of lime macaron and white pepper.

Delicate nose with lime tree and lemon pulp, green apple and butter. The tarte tatin-like character is supported by pinprick bubbles, medium body and a tight-knit structure with zesty acidity and good floral length, enhanced by a touch of chalky minerality. 100% chardonnay. Drink or hold.

Medium golden yellow with silver reflections and a lively, fine mousse. Delicate cookie, yellow tropical fruit and some blossom honey on the nose, with a hint of grapefruit. Textured and elegant on the palate with a core of fresh pome fruit and a fine acidity, leading to pink grapefruit on the lingering finish. A fairly fresh bouquet with thiol notes, lemon, citrus, a touch of vegetal character and menthol. The palate shows an easy, creamy Chardonnay style without great complexity.

This Champagne is in the rich Perrier Jouët style. That means a crushed cookie aroma and ripe white fruits with a light texture. Taut minerality is balanced by apple pie flavors. The wine is ripe and ready to drink.
