Appearance
The wine reveals a very fine golden hue, enhanced by delicate green highlights.
Nose
The aromatic bouquet opens with floral and fruity notes, blending white flowers with aromas of candied citrus, all underscored by a touch of chalky minerality and gentle spices.
Palate
Lively and supple, the palate proves particularly inviting. It unfolds pure flavours of chalk and candied citrus, lifted by sweet spices, before stretching towards a saline and refreshing finish.

This white wine can be cellared until around 2035 to reveal the full extent of its aromatic complexity.
The elegance and precision of a great white wine from Sancerre
The estate
Nestled in the heart of the Loire Valley, this historic estate embodies a winegrowing lineage whose earliest traces date back to 1513. Today, the Alphonse Mellot estate is run by the nineteenth and twentieth generations. Renowned for its rigorous standards, this estate stands out for its deep commitment to organic and biodynamic viticulture, producing wines of remarkable precision that celebrate the richness of their terroirs.
The vineyard
The cuvée comes from the emblematic La Moussière vineyard, a single block with south and south-west exposure, within the Sancerre appellation. This exceptional terroir lies on Saint-Doulchard marls and a Kimmeridgian subsoil. The vines are cultivated according to the principles of organic and biodynamic farming.
Winemaking and ageing
The harvest is carried out by hand. The whole bunches are meticulously sorted before undergoing a gentle sequential pneumatic pressing. Following a cold settling, fermentation takes place half in tanks and half in new barrels. The wine then benefits from ageing on fine lees for seven to eight months, accompanied by regular bâtonnage.
Grape variety
Sauvignon Blanc (100%).
