Domaine Coursodon : Key Points

Domaine Coursodon has been a family estate for 5 generations, located in Mauves, the "historic cradle" of the Saint-Joseph appellation. Before its official creation in 1956, the Saint-Joseph appellation was known as "Vin de Mauves."

Constantly striving to innovate, the Coursodon family were pioneers in the Rhône Valley, such as Auguste, who in the 1950s was the first to market his wine in bottles rather than barrels. His son, Pierre, replanted the vineyards on steep hillside plots that had previously been neglected, in order to fully express the richness of the terroir. Jérôme Coursodon joined his father in 1998.

The vineyards of Domaine Coursodon cover 13 hectares of Syrah and 2 hectares of Marsanne and Roussanne for the production of white wines. Planted on slopes with predominantly granite soil, the vines are tended by hand.
