The 2010 vintage of the Penfolds' Magill Estate offers a dark, purpled-tinted hue. The nose is an explosion of flavors of plum, blackcurrant, spices, dried meat, coffee and chocolate. On the palate it is precise with an evolution marked by fruits and powdery tannins. Located east of the city of Adelaide, the Magill Estate's vineyard covers 5.2 hectares planted exclusively with Syrah. The vine growing is traditional harvest done by hand and winemaking is processed on site as well as aging in oak barrels.
