Located in the heart of the Pauillac appellation on the left bank of Bordeaux, Chateau Grand-Puy-Lacoste produces one of the most representative wines of the appellation. Lacoste-Borie is the second wine of the estate.
The Grand Puy Lacoste vineyard represents 90 hectares of vines planted on deep gravel outcroppings. 60 hectares are planted all in one piece. The vines used to produce Lacoste-Borie are younger than those used for the First Wine of Grand-Puy-Lacoste, but are cultivated with the same care.
This 2019 vintage was a great success for Chateau Grand-Puy-Lacoste. The mild, dry winter allowed for an early bud burst. The arrival in April of cooler temperatures slowed down the pace of the vegetative cycle of the vines. The particularly hot and dry summer slowed the growth of the vines, then the light rains in September allowed the fruit to reach perfect ripeness.
