A Bordeaux blend of 78% Cabernet Sauvignon and 22% Merlot, this Fifth Growth from Grand-Puy-Lacoste exhibits classic Pauillac aromas. Highly acclaimed by many tasters and critics, 2005 was a hot, dry growing season. Exclusively hand harvested, followed by two successive selections before and after the de-stemming process. 3 week maceration followed by 16-18 months ageing in French Oak barrels (70% new).
Tasting Notes: Notes of forest floor, cedar, spice, cassis, tobacco and blackberry create the nose. On the palate, the tannins are refined. Great tension balancing ripe fruit and freshness. Refined tannins on the palate, can drink now, but still developing in bottle.
