L'Esprit de Chevalier 2018

A mineral, fruity and juicy white Grand Vin from Pessac-Leognan

One of the elite Grands Crus Classes of Bordeaux, Domaine de Chevalier is one of the most important references of the Pessac-Leognan appellation, in the Graves area of southern Bordeaux.

2018 was a great vintage for Bordeaux and showed off the excellence of Domaine de Chevalier through the production of fine white wines.

A Second Wine by Domaine de Chevalier, the L'Esprit de Chevalier Blanc 2018 is made from Sauvignon Blanc (60%) and Semillon (40%). The fruit is harvested from a selection of vines planted in 1986. The L’Esprit de Chevalier stands as a testament to the aim of the Bernard family to "reflect the Spirit of the property" in a vintage that combines power and complexity, finesse and elegance.

At the tasting, the L'Esprit de Chevalier white 2018 reveals a nice aromatic bouquet, with notes of summer fruit, like peach and fresh citrus, further enhanced by delicate floral fragrances. On the palate, the wine seduces with its density and juicy texture, presenting a lively acidity and a superb minerality, with smoky notes, reminiscent of gunflint. A white Grand Vin from Pessac-Leognan, the L’Esprit de Chevalier blanc 2018 is one to appreciate in the liveliness of its youth.
