A Gigondas Wine from an Exceptional Terroir
The Estate
Committed to artisanal winemaking that respects the terroir and the environment, the Famille Perrin has become, vintage after vintage, an essential reference among the great wines of the Rhône Valley. A pioneer in the innovative approach to organic farming as early as 1950, and later biodynamic farming in 1974, the Famille Perrin crafts great wines recognized beyond borders for their quality and refinement.
The Vineyard
This Gigondas wine, located on a mid-slope, grows on a terroir composed of limestone, calcareous marl, clay, and safres. The vines, facing northwest, are carefully planted on the hillsides.
Winemaking and Aging
Hand-harvested, the grapes are sorted and destemmed. The extended malolactic fermentation involves manual punching down for extraction. The wine is aged in wooden vats and foudres for 1 year.
