Description
A true classic of the appellation, Clos du Clocher produces wonderful Pomerol red wines.
Spread over an area of 5.90 hectares, Clos du Clocher benefits from an exceptional terroir, located on the plateau of Pomerol, in front of the village church. The clay-silty soils based on subsoils of blue clay and deep gravel, embody the typicality of the Pomerol appellation. The planting comprises Merlot (70%) and Cabernet Franc (30%).
The Grand Vin of the estate, the Clos du Clocher 2018 was aged for 18 months in French oak barrels (2/3 new oak and 1/3 barrels of one previous wine).
The fruit of a great vintage for the Bordeaux region, the Clos du Clocher 2018 presents the signature style of the property. The aromatic palette offers notes of black fruits, spices, menthol and chocolate notes, punctuated with floral fragrances of violet and truffle notes, typical of Pomerol. Born from a great terroir of the appellation, the Clos du Clocher 2018 is deep, elegant and refined, an embodiment of the excellence of the great red wines of Pomerol.
