Chateau l'Evangile

Chateau L'Evangile is situated in the appellation of Pomerol on a long strip of deep gravel soil which it shares with its neighbours, Petrus to the north and Cheval Blanc to the south. Dating to the 18th century, the property was acquired by the Domaines Barons de Rothschild in 1990. The Rothschilds initiated a period of change including a more rigorous selection for its grand vin, the introduction of a second wine, a replanting program and finally, a new cellar and vat room. These efforts have resulted in a decade of outstanding Chateau L'Evangile vintages.
