    2014 Médoc from Bordeaux

This 2014 Medoc Chateau Potensac offers concentration and power. The wine is ample despite low yields (mainly due to the hail episode that occurred in Medoc in June). Both pleasant and solid, this Medoc is expressive, fruity with a lot of freshness. This Medoc was well-produced and it is well-balanced. This wine is 39% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot and 3% Petit Verdot. The Merlot is ripe and the Petit Verdot brings a spicy hint to the whole. It is a skilfully vinified, worth-keeping Médoc.

    Wine Advocate-Parker :
The 2014 Potensac has a well-defined bouquet with oyster-shell tinged black fruit, aromatics that are very evocative of the estuary, perhaps absorbing some of the Gironde. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin on the entry, a mixture of red and black fruit, a pinch of white pepper and a pretty, quite elegant finish. Go for the Grand Vin this year rather than the Deuxième.
