Description
A fresh and aromatic red wine from Medoc, unveiled by Chateau Potensac
The estate
Located in the north of the Medoc, west of the Bordeaux region, Chateau Potensac has been in the same family for many generations. This property has always been passed down from mother to daughter. Today, Jean-Hubert Delon, grandson of Georgette Liquard, is entrusted with the chateau, which is considered an iconic estate in the northern Medoc.
The vineyard
The Chateau Potensac vineyard represents 40 hectares dedicated to the First Wine in the heart of the Medoc. The vines, aged by 45 years on average, are planted on clay-gravelly ridges resting on a limestone subsoil, giving the wine minerality, tension and freshness.
The vintage
2020 was an early vintage, with significant weather variations impacting yields. The grapes harvested are of a high quality, offering a ripe tannic structure and a beautiful minerality.
Blend
The 2020 Chateau Potensac is made from a blend of Merlot (44%), Cabernet Sauvignon (33%), Cabernet Franc (22%), Petit Verdot (1%).
Tasting
The 2020 Chateau Potensac seduces with its concentration and its minerality, which is combined with a great freshness and enhanced by delicious aromas of ripe black fruits.
