Marks and reviews
Proudly overlooking the Gironde estuary since the beginning of the 19th century, the Chateau Phelan-Segur vineyard is divided into four separate plots in the heart of the Saint-Estephe appellation.
The 70 hectares of vines are planted in an exceptional clay soil in the Saint-Estephe appellation.
The mild and rainy spring brought a rather early budding and flowering, suggesting a great potential for the vintage. The radiant summer was followed by an Indian summer, which created the perfect conditions just before the harvest.
Combining power and freshness, the 2019 vintage delivers a very high quality Chateau Phelan-Segur. The color is deep red with purplish reflections. On the nose, the aromas of ripe black fruit mingle with toasted notes to form a complex bouquet. On the palate, the Phelan-Segur 2019 becomes quite juicy and crunchy, while offering a beautiful harmony, freshness and aromatic persistence.
