Description

The smoothness and richness of a great Pauillac wine

The estate

In the 18th century, the Château Lynch-Moussas became, like the Château Lynch-Bages, the property of the famous Lynch family of Irish origin. The Castéja family, owners since the 16th century in Pauillac, acquired this château at the beginning of the 20th century.

The vineyard

The Château Lynch-Moussas is a Pauillac wine from a 62-hectare vineyard.

The vintage

A late bud break due to alternating mild and cool periods in March precedes a spring whose humid and warm conditions lead to high mildew pressure. Subsequently, more favourable weather promotes uniform flowering, as well as fruit set. The hot month of June is punctuated by rainy and sometimes stormy episodes, before a dry and relatively cool July. Slow and progressive, the veraison gives the berries a refreshing acidity. The high temperatures recorded from August 15th result in a significant slowdown in maturation without losing aromatic richness.

Blend

This Château Lynch-Moussas 2023 is the result of a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (78%) and Merlot (22%).
