Description
A great wine from Pauillac, perfectly balanced between delicacy, elegance and power
The estate
Chateau Lynch-Moussas, like Lynch-Bages, belonged in the 18th century to the famous Lynch family of Irish origin. The 62-hectare vineyard is planted with 75% Cabernet Sauvignon and 25% Merlot. The Casteja family, who have owned land in Pauillac since the 16th century, acquired this chateau at the beginning of the 20th century.
The vintage
After the excellent vintages in 2018 and 2019, the 2020 vintage has entered into this fine lineage with roundness, richness and elegance. The year opened with a dry and mild winter, bringing about early vine budding. The spring season benefited from similar climatic conditions, but the first half of May was quite cool and rainy. Ripening started at the beginning of July. During the two summer months, the vineyard at Chateau Lynch-Moussas was without water and under the influence of very strong heat. As with all great vintages, the harvests took place entirely in September.
The blend
Cabernet Sauvignon (72%), Merlot (28%).
