Description

A Haut-Medoc with a fruity and floral bouquet

The estate
The Chateau Lanessan vineyard has belonged to the Bouteiller family since the 18th century. Eight generations of this same family have succeeded each other at the helm of the estate. A woman, Paz Espejo, took over the management of Chateau Lanessan in 2009. This change in management corresponds to the Bouteiller family's stated desire to breathe new life into this beautiful property. "The challenge is to remain loyal to our region while adapting to consumer expectations." The Cru Bourgeois Château Lanessan stands out today as one of the most beautiful properties in Haut-Médoc.

The vineyard
This Cru Bourgois Exceptionnel from Margaux is planted in deep gravel upon brown soils and outcrops of marl-limestone. The vineyard is cultivated with sustainable viticultural practices, including grassing between the rows.

The vintage
The winter was mild and dry in Haut-Medoc. The summer was hot and sunny from May to August, making this a very dry season. This 2019 vintage is characterized by grapes of excellent health and perfect ripeness.

The winemaking and aging
Mechanical harvest. Fermentation and maceration in temperature-controlled concrete tanks. After vinification, the wine is aged 12 months in 225-liter French oak barrels.

The blend

Cabernet sauvignon (54%), merlot (36%) and petit verdot (10%).

Tasting
The Chateau Lanessan 2019 is an intense wine with a purple color, and aromas of black fruit and floral nuances. A lively attack then gives way to a silky structure on the palate. The Chateau Lanessan 2019 is a balanced, powerful and fresh wine on the finish.
