Chateau Lafon-Rochet is a 4th classified growth produced in the Saint-Estephe appellation. Aged 30 years on average, the vineyard extends over a total area of 40 hectares and benefits from a terroir composed of deep gravel and gravel over clay. The aging of the wine is carried out in barrels (of which 50% are new), over a period ranging from 14 to 16 months, depending on the year. The vintage 2015 blends 54% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot, 6% Cabernet Franc and 5% Petit Verdot.
The Chateau Lafon-Rochet 2015 reveals an elegant, complex and fine nose. It first develops aromas of black fruits (black cherries, blackcurrants), along with subtle notes of blueberry, graphite, toasted wood and spices. The wine displays balance, fruitiness, smoothness, deliciousness and precision on the palate, even offering a nice tension. It is silky in the mouth and the tannins are very elegant.
The medium garnet-purple colored 2015 Lafon-Rochet is reduced on the nose to begin, with tar and earth aromas over black fruits and herbs. The medium-bodied palate is vibrant and refreshing with firm, grainy tannins.
