The 2015 Gazin is a blend of 95.2% Merlot and 4.8% Cabernet Franc. Its splendidly mature grapes were picked between the 10 of September (Merlot) and the 7 of October (Cabernet) over a 3-week period. The wine expresses all the ultimate expression of this favourable vintage. Gazin 2015 balances at the same time power and fluidity. It has a very expressive nose, with intense black fruit notes of blueberry and black cherry. Exposure to air emphasizes the rich aromas of the wine. The palate is medium-bodied with an elegant and precise tannins structure. The finish, with its slight smoky quality, is dominated by its fruit. The wine already offers a harmonious balance. This is a successful Gazin that takes advantage of all the finest qualities of Merlot and Cabernet Franc.
Medium to deep garnet-purple in color, the 2015 Gazin is scented of baked plums, Christmas cake, mincemeat and plum preserves with hints of chocolate box, coffee, tapenade and smoked meats. Medium to full-bodied with mouth-filling baked berries and savory layers, it has firm, chewy tannins and a long finish.
