Description
The aromatic radiance and structure of a Pauillac Second Wine
The estate
In the heart of the Pauillac appellation, Chateau Duhart-Milon is a perfect representative of its appellation. This 4th Classified Growth of Pauillac was founded in the 18th century under the leadership of the Lafite family, who covered Pauillac with vines at that time.
The vineyard
Chateau Duhart Milon watches over a 76-hectare vineyard located to the west of Chateau Lafite-Rothschild. The soils are composed of fine gravel and aeolian sand upon tertiary limestone subsoils.
The wine
The Second wine of Chateau Duhart-Milon, Moulin de Duhart is a Pauillac wine made from a rigorous selection of younger-than-average vines. The name of this wine refers to an old mill on the Carruades plateau, next to the Chateau Duhart-Milon vineyard.
Vinification and aging
The wine is aged for 10 months in two-year-old barrels.
The blend
Cabernet Sauvignon (55 to 60%)
Merlot (40 to 45%).
Moulin de Duhart 2021: Characteristics and tasting tips
The tasting
This Pauillac wine is aged for a shorter period of time than Chateau Duhart-Milon. In its youth, it gives off a rich aromatic framework.
Service
For optimal tasting experience, we recommend decanting this wine one hour before serving at 16-18°C.
