Description
The perfect maturity and aromatic richness of a Pauillac wine by Duhart-Milon
The property
Situated in the middle of the Pauillac appellation, Chateau Duhart-Milon is a perfect representative of its appellation. This 4th Classified Growth of Pauillac was founded in the 18th century under the leadership of the Lafite family who covered Pauillac with vines at that time.
The vineyard
Today, the Duhart Milon vineyard represents 76 hectares. It extends to the west of another well-known Pauillac estate: Chateau Lafite Rothschild. The soils are composed of fine gravel and aeolian sands upon tertiary limestone subsoils.
The vintage
Rainfall in mid-August allowed the grapes to reach perfect maturity. The entire vineyard, regardless of the age of the vines, produced a superb yield. The Merlot was picked on September 12th. The carefully selected fruit was perfectly round and intact.
The blend
Cabernet Sauvignon (72%), Merlot (28%)
