The grape-varieties used for the Chateau de Sales wines grow on a gravelly and sandy soil with clayey parts. Iron oxide can be noticed, also called iron dirt. Although restrained at first, the 2014 Chateau de Sales is more expressive after swirling with a fresh aromatic palette of soaked strawberry, red plum but also red rose fragrances. The attack is bold with smooth, soft tannins blended in fruit. This scrumptious Pomerol is pleasant.
