Description
The subtlety and refinement of a Pomerol red wine
The property
Located in the northwest of Pomerol, the Château de Sales is a historic property on the right bank of Bordeaux, belonging to the same family for over five centuries. The Lambert heirs and their children now oversee the destiny of this iconic property producing great Pomerol wines.
The vineyard
With an area of 47.60 hectares, the vineyard of Château de Sales is the largest in the Pomerol appellation.
The vintage
A cool and wet spring and early summer slow down the vegetative cycle. Particularly dry and sunny, the second part of the summer is marked by a significant water deficit. The mildness of September and October, combined with high thermal amplitudes, are ideal conditions to promote good berry concentration while preserving a rich aromatic palette.
Vinification and aging
The aging is carried out in new barrels (5%) and barrels of 1 to 3 years (95%).
Blend
Merlot (90%)
Cabernet franc (10%).
