Originating from a vineyard of 76 hectares in the Haut-Médoc appellation, Château Coufran benefits from vines aged 50 years on average, planted on gravelly soils typical of the Médoc. The wine is aged in French oak barrels for an average of 12 months. The 2016 vintage is a blend of 85% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Sauvignon.
The château Coufran 2016 is an extremely bold wine, combining roundness and smoothness on the palate. The finish offers tremendous length and a beautiful aromatic persistence. Merlot plants, quite old, ensure here in the style of the wine both an aromatic deliciousness and very good keeping potential.
