A superbly complex white wine from Pessac-Leognan

Chateau Carbonnieux blanc is a Grand Cru from the Pessac-Leognan appellation. The vineyard spreads out over an area of 42 hectares. The wine is aged in barrels, 25% are new, and undergoes regular lees stirring. The 2016 blend is produced from 65% Sauvignon Blanc and 35% Semillon.

Chateau Carbonnieux blanc 2016 posesses a large and intense aromatic palate, typical of great Sauvignon Blancs in years with a lot of sun, with characteristics from Pessac-Leognan. The subliminal concentration of the grapes give the wine rich and intense aromas. In the mouth, the texture is round and the acidity is refreshing. The volume gives an impression of complexity and fullness with a very persistent finish.

    Wine Advocate-Parker :
The Carbonnieux 2016 Blanc features fresh white peaches, Bosc pears and honeysuckle with touches of lemongrass and yuzu. Medium-bodied, refreshing and with a lovely intensity of apple and pears layers, it finishes on a mineral note.
