Description
A fruity Haut-Medoc with an elegant structure
Located in the heart of the Haut-Medoc appellation, Chateau Cambon La Pelouse is a 39 hectare vineyard planted on thick gravel, sandy soil and Quaternary. On average, the vines are 35 years old. The plot consists of 48% Cabernet Sauvignon, 48% Merlot and 4% Petit Verdot.
Cambon La Pelouse 2016 is a blend of 54% Cabernet Sauvignon, 42% Merlot and 4% Petit Verdot. The vintage was beneficial for the Petit Verdot grape variety, which is usually complicated to exploit. In great vintages (such as the 2016), it matures perfectly with notes of spices in the blend.
The color is very intense, and resembles ink due to the richness in anthocyanin. From the start, the nose expresses scents of black fruits. In the mouth, the acidity adds to the elegant structure of the tannins. The finish is fruity and crisp. A real success!
