Enjoying a remarkable located on the edge of the Margaux appellation, Château Cambon La Pelouse boasts a beautiful 65 hectare vineyard. The vines are planted in very lean and sandy gravel soils dating from the Quaternary period. The particularities of these soils include their excellent drainage and ability to store heat, allowing the grapes to reach perfect ripeness in time for the harvest.
The 2020 vintage required plenty of attention on the part of the vineyard teams, especially during the rainy and warm spring season. At the end of the growing season, the bunches produced fewer grapes, already suggesting a lower yield than usual. Rainy days at the end of the season allowed the vines to rehydrate. The climatic conditions of 2020 were ideal for Merlot to thrive.
