Description
The liveliness and freshness of a Blanc de Blancs Champagne crafted from the finest Champagne terroirs
The estate
The Champagne House Perrier-Jouët was founded in 1811 by Pierre Perrier and his wife Adèle Jouët. Drawing on exceptional terroirs in Champagne (Aÿ, Mailly-Champagne, Avize and Cramant), the house's cuvées are renowned for their singular style, blending aromatic richness, refinement and subtlety. From 1861, Perrier-Jouët became the official champagne of Queen Victoria, and later of the French Imperial Court.
Owned since 1959 by the Champagne house GH Mumm, the House of Perrier-Jouët owes its distinctiveness in particular to the iconic bottle of its prestige cuvée "Belle Époque," designed in 1969 by Émile Gallé.
The vineyard
This bottle carries on the house's innovative spirit, which in the 1920s created its first 100% Chardonnay cuvées. Crafted from the finest terroirs of Champagne and made with a small proportion of reserve wines, this cuvée benefits from 3 years of aging on lees. Remarkably fresh and vibrant, it is the perfect expression of the Perrier-Jouët style.
The cuvée
Attentive to its environment, the Perrier-Jouët house presents this Perrier-Jouët Blanc de Blancs Champagne (bottle formats only) in an innovative gift box. Made in France from 100% natural fibers sourced from FSC-certified forests, the Ecobox is a sustainably designed gift box, made without any mineral oil and with limited ink and water consumption.
Winemaking and aging
Hand-harvested, the grapes undergo alcoholic fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats, followed by malolactic fermentation. This cuvée, with a dosage of 8 g/liter, benefits from an aging period more than twice as long as required by the appellation.
Blend
Chardonnay (100%).
