A first among the 1855 classified growths of Bordeaux, Chateau Lafite-Rothschild is a lord upon gravel soils. Chateau Lafite-Rothschild enjoys an exceptional location, with a vineyard divided into three large areas. The Carruades plateau is located to the west of the estate on fine gravel soils and sand upon limestone subsoils.
The Second Wine of Chateau Lafite Rothschild, the 2020 Carruades de Lafite is a great Pauillac wine.
Thanks to the thunderstorms which followed flowering, the grapes remained in an excellent state of health. The optimal climatic conditions during the 2020 vintage allowed the Merlot to flourish and offer its most beautiful aromatic expression.
