The estate
The Second wine of Chateau Lafite Rothschild, Carruades de Lafite is a fine wine from Pauillac.
The vineyard
Chateau Lafite Rothschild enjoys an exceptional location with a vineyard divided into three large areas. The Carruades plateau is located to the west of the estate and planted in fine gravel and sandy soils upon limestone subsoils.
The vintage
The bud burst took place on March 27 and was followed by a beautiful flowering in early June. The climatic conditions of this 2019 vintage allowed the berries to reach perfect maturity on time for the harvest, around mid-September. The harvest took place from September 19 to October 7, starting with the Merlot, followed by the Cabernet.

Cabernet sauvignon (68%), merlot (27%), cabernet franc (5%)
