Description
The freshness and intensity of a Second Wine from Margaux
The estate
This vineyard called "Hostein" in the 18th century was already at that time one of the most beautiful labels of the Médoc. At the head of Chateau Brane-Cantenac since 1992, Henri Lurton passionately perpetuates the wine adventure began by his ancestors, by combining tradition with the modernity through infrastructures designed to magnify the identity of the wines from this exceptional terroir of the Margaux appellation.
The vineyard
Chateau de Brane-Cantenac 2021 is a Margaux wine made from a vineyard located on the Brane plateau, which contributes to the elegant and aromatic signature of the estate's wines. The Grand Vin is made from plots of old vines located on the 4th terrace with the most clayey gravel soils, on a historic terroir with an area of approximately 45 hectares.
The wine
Baron de Brane is the Second Wine of Chateau Brane-Cantenac. This wine pays tribute to Baron Jacques-Maxime de Brane, who owned the vineyard in the 19th century. This Second Wine is made from plots located on the 3rd terrace with deep gravel and clayey gravel soils.
The blend
Baron de Brane 2021 comprises a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (74%), Merlot (22%), Cabernet Franc (2%), Petit Verdot (1%) and Carmenere (1%).
