uQamata is a handcrafted Bordeaux Blend by Joubert-Tradauw, a family-owned winery in the “Little Karoo” region of Tradouw Valley, South Africa. The cool valley is surrounded by mountainous terrain, indigenous fynbos bushes, and stunning waterfalls. This unique terroir, along with large differences in day and night temperatures, make it well-suited for red wine viticulture.
“I try to capture the magic of the unique Tradouw Valley with its own microclimate and terroir in each bottle,” says winemaker Meyer Joubert. The uQamata Bordeaux Blend is made from handpicked Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc. It’s unfined, unfiltered, and naturally fermented. A wine built for aging, it spends 20 months in French oak barrels before bottling.
Meaning “Supreme Being” in local dialect, uQamata lives up to its divine name. A complex and concentrated wine with red and black fruit flavors of raspberry, blackberry, it’s well paired with meat dishes such as rack of lamb, duck, goose or turkey.
