This classic DOQ Priorat blends Garnacha and Carignan, manually harvested from very old vines, aged 80 years or more. The wine offers a pure expression of its magnificent terroir of origin : the very steep slopes of the Mas de la Rosa vineyard, home to Priorat’s iconic « llicorella » schist soils. This is a bold, robust red wine with gorgeous black fruit notes and an unmistakable minerality, its powerful tannins tamed by 16 months on French oak. An ideal pairing with grilled venison or lamb chops.

Gran Coronas 2016

This truly innovative red Penedes blends the star grapes of France and Spain : Cabernet Sauvignon and Tempranillo, respectively. The wine is aged for at least 12 months in French oak (30% new each year), and at least 12 months in bottle before its release. The result is an intensely fruity profile, bursting with ripe blueberry and cassis aromas, along with delicate black pepper and balsamic nuances. A wine that will go beautifully with aged cheeses or braised oxtail.

The brightest star of the Torres lineup, this brooding red Penedes is made from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, a French grape whose introduction to Catalonia was pioneered by Miguel A. Torres in the 1960’s. Originating from the four best parcels of the Torres Mas la Plana vineyard, this wine is aged for 18 months in 85% new French oak barrels, resulting in tannins that are powerful yet elegant. This is a wine with a stunning list of accolades, having received 107 different awards since its debut vintage in 1970. A truly special centerpiece, to pair with a prime cut of dry-aged beef.

Forcada 2016

A rare gem and beautiful expression of historic Penedes in white, the Forcada bottling is made exclusively from the grape of the same name. Never heard of Forcada ? We’re not surprised. This is an ancestral variety of Catalonia, once believed to have disappeared after the phylloxera epidemic, and recovered in the 1980’s with the help of the Torres family. With its intense aromas of yellow flowers and sun-dried Mediterranean herbs, this is a white wine to be enjoyed year-round, with a variety of cheeses, grilled vegetables or paella.
