The freshness and balance of a Côtes de Provence rosé wine
The property
Home to great men since antiquity, the Château Miraval has seen Thomas Aquinas, the Prince of Naples and also Jacques Loussier live within its pastel pink walls. In 1970, this famous French jazz pianist revolutionized Château Miraval: he had a recording studio installed where all the greatest rock legends were invited. In 2008, this magical place won the hearts of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt who then decided to buy the estate. They undertook modernization work and succeeded in the challenge of bringing Château Miraval to the heights of excellence of the greatest rosé wines of Provence.
The vineyard
Located in the heart of Var, the prestigious Château Miraval benefits from an absolutely exceptional terroir in the town of Correns, the first organic village in France. This Côtes de Provence wine is made from the best terroirs of the estate as well as a selection of grapes and wines from vineyards mainly located in the northern part of Provence. The vineyard's location at about 350 meters altitude on clay-limestone soils gives this Miraval Rosé 2022 a subtle combination of acidity and minerality. Combined with a cool climate marked by significant temperature variations between day and night, it's ideal for refining maturities and ensuring perfect balance.
Vinification and aging
Harvested mainly early in the morning, the grapes undergo rigorous sorting before destemming. The cinsault, the Grenache and the Rolle are directly pressed while the syrah is vinified by bleeding. Vinification is 95% in thermoregulated stainless steel tanks and 5% in barrels with stirring.
