The freshness and precision of a great Pauillac red wine

The latest addition to the prestigious Grand Cru Classe de Pauillac, Chateau Pichon Baron, Les Griffons de Pichon Baron 2017 offers the experience of a superb red wine with great purity and freshness.

The result of a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (52%) and Merlot (48%), Les Griffons de Pichon Baron 2017 of Chateau Pichon Baron is aged in one-wine barrels for 18 months. This great Pauillac red wine is made from grapes from gravelly plots located near the Gironde estuary, on the left bank of Bordeaux.

On tasting, Les Griffons de Pichon Baron 2017 from Chateau Pichon Baron has a dark and intense crimson red color. Very expressive, the aromatic bouquet opens on notes of small red fruits with morello cherry and strawberry scents. Beautiful notes of sweet spices then embalm the nose. On the palate, the mouth unfolds an elegant substance with a deliciously velvety texture, structured by supple tannins. The palate has a very nice balance and great precision, underlining the correctness of the maturing process, perfectly integrated. Revealing all the charm of the Pauillac appellation, Les Griffons de Pichon Baron 2017 of Chateau Pichon Baron will be appreciated from now on while presenting an interesting perspective for aging up to 2037.

    Wine Advocate-Parker :
The Cabernet Sauvignon-based expression of Pichon Baron's second wine contains 52% Cabernet Sauvignon and 48% Merlot. Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2017 Les Griffons de Pichon Baron has expressive notes of cassis, crushed black cherries and black raspberries with hints of lavender, underbrush, Provence herbs and tilled soil. The palate is medium-bodied and incredibly elegant with great freshness and very fine tannins, finishing earthy.
