2014 Lalande de Pomerol from Bordeaux.
During a vintage rightfully judged as harmonious according to the property, the Chateau La Fleur de Board enjoyed its remarkable installations (truncated cone-shaped barrels) to handle its vintage with great precision. The Merlots were harvested in good conditions (from September 22nd to October 2nd) and their quality is reproduced thanks to a skilfully led vinification (gravity-driven system).
The 2014 La Fleur de Boüard is a very fresh Lalande de Pomerol. The nose is elegant and reveals an aromatic richness, leaving a crispy grape sensation as soon as the olfactory examination. The dark berries persist in freshness and olfactory tension. The aeration offers a peppery hint. The supremacy of the fruit is pleasant without any mark from the ageing process. Indeed, the wine has texture that perfectly blends the wood (80% new-barrels). The palate is fleshy with a delicate, silky tannic structure. This wine is a success.
Wine Advocate-Parker :
The 2014 La Fleur de Bouard has a detailed and quite intense bouquet with blackberry, raspberry and cedar aromas, an attractive floral scent that emerges with time in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, crisp acidity, lively and crisp in the mouth, although the finish shuts everything down a little early. Therefore, give this Lalande de Pomerol three or four years in bottle to allow those tannins to mellow and just gain the charm of the aromatics.
