Le Plus de la Fleur de Bouard 2016: a refined and concentrated Lalande de Pomerol

The Plus de la Fleur de Bouard is a red wine made exclusively with Merlot and produced in the Lalande de Pomerol appellation. With an average age of 60-years-old, the vines grow in a ridge of gravel composed of 15 to 20% clay. The wine has a long aging of 33 months in oak barrels without fining or filtration.

At tasting, the Plus de la Fleur de Bouard 2016 showcases aromas of ripe black cherry, cassis and blackberry jam. The wine is dynamic on the palate and reveals tasty touches of ripe black fruit, dark chocolate and blackcurrant. Ample and round, the Plus de la Fleur Boüard 2016 is fine and concentrated. It is a wine with great cellaring potential.

This comment is mainly intended to describe the general profile of a wine at a given moment. Note that over time, the wine may offer other organoleptic qualities as it evolves in bottle.

Wine Advocate-Parker :
The 2016 Le Plus (100% Merlot) has a medium to deep garnet-purple color and rocks up with a flamboyantly-scented nose of Morello cherries, warm black plum, blackberry preserves and chocolate box with a touch of bay leaves. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is laden with open-knit black fruit preserves, sparked by dried herbs and textured with soft, rounded tannins, finishing with a lively lift.
