A Fresh and Tasty Saint-Estephe Red Wine
La Dame de Montrose is from the Saint-Estephe appellation. This second wine from Chateau Montrose is a blend of 64% Cabernet Sauvignon and 36% Merlot.
The 2010 Dame de Montrose has a concentrated, dark, almost black, color. On the nose, it has complex aromas of cherry, raspberry, tobacco and hints of vanilla. On the palate, the first sip is sharp, and then the wine opens up to give fresh raspberry flavors with notes of vanilla, mocha and soft oak. The fine-grained tannins bring the wine to an end with a long finish.
