Hubert Lignier : Charmes-Chambertin Grand cru 2019

Immediately seductive, this is produced from a small parcel of vines which are more than seventy years old, located in Mazoyères-Haut, just along the Route des Grands Crus and across from Latricières. Initially a bit closed, the wine reveals its opulent, dark plummy fruit, sweetness and velvety texture on the palate, with a finish that lingers seemingly forever.

Ripe and vigorous, with plenty of muscle, Charmes comes from a plot located in Mazoyères. Its dense yet finely crafted tannic structure and remarkable persistence mark it as a great wine.
