A prestigious Côte de Nuits landmark, Domaine de la Vougeraie is owned by the Boisset family, leading Burgundy wine merchants.
The story began in the 1960s, when Jean-Claude Boisset set up in the wine trade and acquired the first plots of vines around Gevrey-Chambertin.
In 1964, Jean-Claude Boisset became the owner of the "Les Evocelles" plot. From then on, the Domaine de la Vougeraie was built up step by step. The Domaine de la Vougeraie was born out of the desire to bring together the Boisset family's most beautiful plots in a single estate. In 1984, the family became the owners of vineyards around Vougeot and in the Côte de Beaune, and then it was the turn of Vougeot Premier Cru Le Clos Blanc de Vougeot to complete this group of prestigious plots reflecting the diversity of Burgundy's climats.
Domaine de la Vougeraie was founded in 1999 with a single philosophy in mind: to bring each appellation to its highest level, using only plots of Premier Crus, Grand Crus and Monopoles. The Domaine de la Vougeraie vineyard covers 34 hectares of vines divided into 67 plots. In order to be as close as possible to nature and to respect the environment at every level, Domaine de la Vougeraie has been cultivated organically and biodynamically since 1999.
From the vine to the cellar, Domaine de la Vougeraie's holistic approach and the precision that goes into making each cuvée ensure the production of wines of great purity, illustrating all the specific characteristics of Burgundy's terroirs.
