Domaine la Boutinière : Cuvée Grande Réserve 2022

This wine presents a deep and concentrated nose of plums, boysenberry, brown mushroom, musk, black peppercorn, leather, and black licorice. The structure is evident, with youthful tannins that intensify the black-fruited notes, emphasizing black cherries, clove, and thyme stems. While promising now, cellaring will allow its complex beauty to fully emerge.

A focused, well-built and rather traditional red, 100% grenache from 100-year-old vines in La Crau. Aromas of spiced cherries, roasted meat, leather and baking spices. It’s full-bodied with chewy tannins. Firm with a juicy core of red fruit at the center and notes of spices throughout. Compact and generous finish with plenty of spicy character. Try from 2027.

The Domaine's old vine Cuvee kicks off with flowers, kirsch, tobacco, mint, garrigue, and earthy black plums. Sweet, round, fresh, and fruity, this is going to be quite nice for at least a decade or longer, plus you should be able to enjoy this on release. Drink from 2025-2036.

The 2022 Châteauneuf Du Pape Grande Réserve is largely cut from the same cloth, showing a medium ruby hue alongside juicy red fruit, peppery garrigue, and floral, spicy nuances. It’s balanced and medium-bodied, with supple, integrated tannins and solid length. Drink this blend of 85% Grenache, 10% Mourvèdre, and 5% Syrah over the coming decade.
