The
Cotes de Provence La Londe appellation covers more than 150 hectares shared among Bormes les Mimosas, La Crau, Hyeres and La Londe les Maures in the Provence wine region. The vines benefit from a Mediterranean climate and are grown in various soils mainly composed of phyllade (slate or clay schist), pebble, sandstone, quartzite or ancient alluvial deposits. The Cotes de Provence La Londe appellation produces rosé (
Cinsault,
Grenache, Mourvedre, etc.), white (
Rolle,
Clairette,
Semillon,
Ugni Blanc) and red wines (Grenache, Mourvedre,
Syrah, etc.). The rosés develop various
fruity aromas (yellow fruit and exotic fruit) and are both
mineral and
round. The whites are fresh and reveal
citrus,
yellow fruit and
white flower aromas. Finally, the Cotes de Provence La Londe reds are quite
fruity and
spicy on the nose while offering
fine and
elegant ripe tannins on the palate.
