Description
A Promising Vintage for an Exceptional Saint-Julien Wine
With wines that seduce with their consistent quality vintage after vintage, the 4th Classified Growth Chateau Talbot is one of the most emblematic wines of the Medoc, on the Left Bank of the Bordeaux region. Elegant, refined and generous in their youth, these wines promise an excellent potential for aging, and are truly representative of the famous Saint-Julien appellation.
Product of a vintage that will long be remembered for the devastating frost at the end of April, the Grand Vin of Chateau Talbot 2017 is nevertheless showing signs of an excellent vintage. The vineyard of 105 hectares enjoys an exceptional soil of Medoc gravel and was largely spared by the harshest climates. The vines were allowed to follow their normal vegetative cycle under great weather conditions during the summer and the grapes achieved optimal maturity on time for the harvest.
The know-how of the estate’s technical team made it possible to extract the very best of this 2017 vintage, through vinifications reflecting great precision and a complete understanding of the terroir. Derived from a typically Medoc blend dominated by the flagship red grape of the Left Bank, Cabernet Sauvignon (68%), complemented by Merlot (26%) and Petit Verdot (6%), the Chateau Talbot 2017 displays a rare complexity, making it a must-try wine from this promising vintage.
