In a perfect vintage where everything was ideal across all the Bordeaux vineyards, the Saint-Julien appellation was not an exception to the rule. Hence the suave, precise and crisp Cabernet Sauvignon and luscious fleshy Merlot boasted by the château Talbot in the 2005 vintage. This 4th Classified Growth has sublimated his terroir by extract the quintessence of the vintage. The bouquet expresses generously licorice, black cherry and blackcurrant on a background of undergrowth aromas. The palate is voluptuous with a feeling of juice on an elegant tannic frame, silky, just tight and well coating the mouth. Beautiful lingering aromas on black fruits. Already pleasant, this wine guarantees great pleasure until 2025 or so.

Wine Advocate-Parker :
The 2005 Talbot is dense ruby/purple, with moderately intense notes of forest floor, underbrush, and black and red currant fruit. It is slightly herbal, medium-bodied, not terribly complex, but has good sweet fruit, and a decent finish. This wine should drink well for another 15 years.
